COURSE DECRIPTION:
Drawing is the most primal expression of self that is known to man. With this activity, people first express their creativity and communicate how they see and understand the world. It is therefore an unfortunate thing when people grow up, saying they do not know how to draw.
The main purpose of the DEGAS Free Fun Program (FFP) is to let learners dip their toes in creating, and take the first steps in expressing themselves through art. This 10‐ hour program is the Summer Season; one of the four season sets of exploratory art activities. All art activities will come from the three main paths: Drawing, Storytelling, and Design. The idea is that through these free, unrelated activities, the student gets to have fun, see their potential as creators, and see if art is their primary interest.
METHOD OF TEACHING:
This course provides live instructor‐led demonstration and discussions, student engagement, and on‐the‐spot hands-on exercises using Zoom or Google Meet. Students will be given instruction on how to tackle the day’s art activity, and they can submit this to DEGAS for collation and eventual presentation (as necessary, and as desired).
