ONE-ON-ONE PIANO LESSONS WITH TEACHER BEYETTE GARCIA

This class aims to let the student learn the basic concepts and fundamentals needed to be able to play musical compositions and give a great performance. Through the guidance of the teacher, the student can apply the lessons and learn through playing classic and contemporary pieces. Understanding the concepts, having diligence in practicing the lessons learned, and developing a positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn the craft, are what make a good pianist. Topics covered include:

● Reading through staff notation
● Understand the keyboard geography
● Proper body and hand position
● Basic musical terms and symbols
● Basic notes and its values
● Pitch names of the keyboard that corresponds to the lines and spaces of the staff
● Basic tempo and dynamic marks for expressive interpretation of the music

INSTRUCTOR: Teacher Beyette Garcia

Coming from a family of music lovers, Teacher Beyette pursued music and graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Music in Music Education at the UP College of Music Diliman. She has been teaching music & piano since 1974, and is currently co-authoring the book series, “Enjoying Life Through MAPEH”, to share her experience and passion to teach piano to students of all ages who are eager to learn.

AGE REQUIREMENT: 7 years old and above

COURSE LEVEL: No prior knowledge required to attend this class

CLASS REQUIREMENTS:

● Piano or Electric Keyboard
● Laptop, Ipad or Cellphone
● Table or Gadget holder
● Headset or Earphones
● Printed Required Materials (Students must know how to read)
● Pencil
● Zoom Account
* Books & materials are assigned after skill assessment

FREQUENCY: Once or twice a week, 10 sessions

Class calendar will be sent as a separate email. Only one (1) make-up class will be provided for students who missed any sessions for the whole cycle.

● Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:00 – 11:45 AM

● Saturdays 1:00 – 2:30 PM (reserved slot)

Each session takes 45-60 minutes within the given schedule. The next batch will start on the week of November

Any changes on the start date of classes will be announced in advance. Once you are officially enrolled, a separate email will be sent, including the start of classes, calendar, schedules, and other important reminders. You will be added to the Class Viber Group wherein all important announcements and coordination happen, for easier communication
